The Social Network..!

The title has been borrowed from a very interesting and well written David Fincher movie that goes by the same name..Couldn't think of anything more apt..Social networking has deepened its root so much in today's times that one has to wonder how people used to live before the advent of Facebook and Twitter[Orkut is long dead man..!!].....Wouldn't it have been very hard to just go "off to sleep" without telling hundreds of your "friends"..!!...or to go on a vacation without being able to tell everyone that you are having "such a good time"..Those were hard times..!!...indeed..wait..let me update my friends that i am writing this post..!!

We are a part of the Facebook generation..and like a coin[so cliched..i know..!] it has two faces..But the side you chose does not depend on the probability but rather on your will..Facebook proved to be a very important tool in harbouring the revolution that took place in Egypt..It would not have been possible to generate such mass gatherings in a nation where all mass media is controlled by the dictator...A young Google employee Wael Ghonim created a stir using a Facebook page..[You too are admin of many..!!..]..Facebook provides new avenues for promotion and marketing..and not to forget reach out to your long lost friends..

It depends completely on the user whether to succumb and become addicted...or just restrict it to a means of reaching out to your friends..There are various incidents where in people have met their long lost childhood friends using Facebook..The success of the movie "The social network" in itself is a testimony to the impact that this social tool has on our lives[..not taking away the credit from some brilliant acting and stupendous screenplay..]..But the fact of the matter is one has to come out of the virtual world and go and work in the fields..Thousands of Internet wars are fought over daily..but The Egyptian people came out of the virtual world to show their strength at the Tehrir Square..It would be a bit far-fetched to say that the Egyptian revolution was completely a child of Facebook..but due credit has to be conferred..

Real friends are made in real world....Though poking them over the web makes it fun..You ultimately have to come out of the Facebook utopia and meet them in flesh and blood...So let the social networking be just a little part of the larger picture..The warmth of a friendly hug can never be felt in the virtual world.....Go and sit beneath the blue sky.....appreciate the beauty it has to offer..[...enough of Farmville..]...live...laugh..Meet people in real to show them how important they are rather than just poking them over and over again..[...and i will post this blog on my Facebook wall..does that make me contradict myself....??..]....A bit narcissism never harmed anyone....just a little less of it....that's the point..!

a beautiful way to express and along with the solution..
facebook is not the destination, maximum like has no award, most frequent updats is no good job...

Life has many more thing than just updating which says that you are on fb.

    Thanks a lot !
