Movies aint jus for fun..!!

If you are a movie aficionado[like me] you can't help but do more than just watching it..It remains with you for some time..so in this casual post I would like to list[not necessarily in the order of preference] the movies which enthralled me..Few great ones might get left out..But it would not lessen their greatness..instead a discussion might get them their due from ignorant people like me[or many of you..]...!!...Few personal favorites..Here it goes...

1.Rain Man(1988):

It tells the story of an abrasive and selfish yuppie, Charlie Babbitt, who discovers that his estranged father has died and bequeathed all of his multimillion-dollar estate to his other son, Raymond, a man with high functioning autism of whose existence Charlie was unaware.

"Charlie Babbitt made a joke."

2.Schindler's List(1993):

Schindler's List is a 1993 film about German entrepreneur Oskar Schindler, who was instrumental in saving the lives of over one thousand Polish Jews during the Holocaust.

The film won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1993.

"Whoever saves one life, saves the world entire"

3.Philadelfia(1993):

Philadelphia is a 1993 film about a man with AIDS who is fired by a conservative law firm because of his condition. He hires a homophobic small time lawyer as the only willing advocate for a wrongful dismissal suit.

4.Shawshank Redemption(1994):

A banker is accused of double murder in the 1940s and begins a life sentence at the fictional Shawshank prison, where he's befriended by an older inmate named Red. During his long stretch in prison, Dufresne comes to be admired by the other inmates for his upstanding moral code and his quietly indomitable spirit.

5.Forrest Gump(1994):

Forrest Gump is a 1994 film starring Tom Hanks about a mentally challenged man's epic journey through life, meeting historical figures, influencing popular culture, and experiencing first-hand historical incidents while largely unaware of their significance.

6.Life is Beautiful(1997):

Life Is Beautiful (Italian: La vita è bella) is a 1997 Italian film which tells the story of a Jewish Italian, Guido Orefice (played by Roberto Benigni, who also directed and co-wrote the film), who must employ his fertile imagination to help his family during their internment in a Nazi concentration camp.

7.A Beautiful Mind(2001):

A Beautiful Mind is a 2001 American drama film based on the life of John Nash, a Nobel Laureate in Economics. The film was directed by Ron Howard and written by Akiva Goldsman. It was inspired by a bestselling, Pulitzer Prize-nominated 1998 book of the same name by Sylvia Nasar. The film stars Russell Crowe, along with Jennifer Connelly, Ed Harris, Paul Bettany and Christopher Plummer.

8.Amelie(2001):

A romantic comedy film directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Its original French title is Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain meaning "The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain.Amelie, an innocent and naive girl in Paris, with her own sense of justice, decides to help those around her and along the way, discovers love.

9.P.S. I Love You(2007):

A young widow discovers that her late husband has left her 10 messages intended to help ease her pain and start a new life.

10.Inception(2010):

Inception is a 2010 sci-fi thriller about a man skilled in the art of invading the dreams of others to steal their secrets, a process known as Extraction. To redeem himself, Dom Cobb must complete a very difficult and dangerous mission in which he plants an idea in another person's mind: Inception.

There are many more favorites which have been left out...doesn't lessen their greatness....Hope you've already enjoyed all the movies above..Cheers to each one of them..and to the makers of cinema like this....!!
